Captiv8 report highlights data for spotting fake followers

Captiv8, a company offering tools for brands to manage influencer marketing campaigns, has released its 2018 Fraud Influencer Marketing Benchmark Report. The goal is to give marketers the data they need to spot fake followers — and thus, to separate the influencers with a real following from those who only offer the illusion of engagement.
The report argues that that this a problem with a real financial impact (it’s something that Instagram is working to crack down on), with $2.1 billion spent on influencer marketing on Instagram in 2017 and 11 percent of the engagement coming from fraudulent accounts.
“For influencer marketing to truly deliver on its transformative potential, marketers need a more concrete and reliable way to identify fake followers and engagement, compare their performance to industry benchmarks, and determine the real reach and impact of social media spend,” Captiv8 says.
So the company looked at a range of marketing categories (pets, parenting, beauty, fashion, entertainment, travel, gaming, fitness, food and traditional celebrity) and randomly selected 5,000 Instagram influencer accounts in each one, pulling engagement from August to November of this year.
The idea is to establish a baseline for standard activity, so that marketers can spot potential red flags. Of course, everyone with a significant social media audience is going to have some fake followers, but Captiv8 suggests that some categories have a higher rate of fraud than others — fashion was the worst, with an average of 14 percent of fake activity per account, to compared to traditional celebrity, where the average was just 4 percent.
So what should you look out for? For starters, the report says that the average daily change in follower counts for an influencer is 1.2 percent, so be on the look out for shifts that are significantly larger.
The report also breaks down the average engagement rate for organic and sponsored content by category (ranging from 1.19 percent for sponsored content in food to 3.51 percent in entertainment), and suggests that a lower engagement rate “shows a high probability that their follower count is inflated through bots or fake followers.”
Conversely, it says it could also be a warning sign if a creator’s audience reach or impressions per user is higher than the industry benchmarks (for example, image posts in fashion have an average audience reach of 23.69 percent, with 1.32 impressions per unique user).

sausage lovef,

This game is pretty good

So I really like this game. I think it has a lot of potential. I think the graphics are pretty good, and I like all of the challenges that this game provides for you to upgrade your team. The game play is pretty smooth in some regards, and I like the shooting mechanics and the look of the cards a lot. This game however needs to have some updates for many reasons. For one I have numerous times gotten the green shot meter, which indicates the ball has a higher chance of going in the net. For me the ball has never gone through the net once outside of the paint when I have gotten a green bar. Every shot you seem to shoot close to the basket usually goes in no matter how contested that player is. I think the game is relatively slow when fouls are called on opposing players, and the free throws are so drawn out and needs to be much faster. I think the “drills mode” is super fun and is a great way to get draft picks and collectables. I also think this game should lower the pack prices of their store. Some of them are outrageous and I know this game has the mentality for you to “grind” but I think it’s a bit too expensive if you’re trying to buy packs. Also I think the rewards for beating a season or getting draft picks should have a higher probability of packing s good player. I’m sure there will be many updates in the future, but I think this game is very fun and enjoyable.

jrjvnrj,

Honest Review

This game is amazing a few things I would like to tell you though. This game has amazing graphics and pays attention to detail more than ever. The sound effects are just like 2k. But you can’t just play as your favorite team. It is basically MyTeam, you collect characters on your quest to be the best in the basketball world. You can never just play as the Golden State Warriors or the Lakers, you will have to earn the cards to build that team. You have a season mode but it is still with your MyTeam, and you can still pick what user team you want for your MyTeam. I personally was a little disappointed because the trailer was a little misleading when I saw all the Warriors on the same team, so don’t think that’s the way it works. You can still train the players you have at the Gatorade Training Facility just like 2k. The trailer also says you can play on the go, which isn’t accurate, you need internet to play, and it takes around 45 seconds for “required assets” to download. I personally recommend this game for you If you want something close to 2k. I like this game over the NBA2k’s that come out each year if you want a better experience.
Let’s go Warriors!

DShaastri,

Awful app with decent concept

They’re trying to offer a free NBA app, which is nice, but this game falls SO short. To start off, you need those “energy bars” to be able to play games. That leads to the worst part - the games themselves. Each game has 2 minute quarters or 2 minute halfs. The gameplay itself is awful, you can only press steal or block on defense, and they make it impossible to juke or do any dribble moves on offense. So it’s just dribble shoot pass block steal repeat. The game also cheats you in many ways including, but not limited to: calling the ball “out of bounds” on your team if it hits the rim on a 2 point attempt (not really out at all), when you drive to dunk in a game vs a better team, it turns the dunk into a contact layup which always misses (with LeBron James), and you NEVER get fouled or get to shoot free throws. It also becomes impossible in many game modes because unless you pay for microtransactions (in-app purchases), you’re stuck with silver and gold level cards, playing against cards that are literally 5x better than yours in many game modes. It’s a decent idea, but it’s been awfully executed. Huge letdown for a 2K game.
Im not sure how this game has a near 5 star rating, maybe people just like that its free, or maybe 2K just pays people to write surveys. Regardless, its a very disappointing game.

Best Android Games in 2019

Best Android Games in 2019

If you're looking for the best new games available in the Google Play Store, you've come to the right place. We update this list whenever a new game comes out that's worthy of being added to this list, so you'll always know about the latest and greatest games.
Whether you're new to Android and need some fresh, new games to start building out your Google Play library or simply looking for the latest trendy games that are worthy of your time and attention, these are the best Android games as of December 2018!

PUBG Mobile

It's pretty incredible how well PUBG Mobile plays on Android. This is a massive PvP battle royale game that pits 100 players against each other on a massive island loaded with weapons, ammo, tactical gear, and vehicles. You drop in as a solo player or as part of a team and must use all your best skills to take down your opponents until you're the last man standing.
It's not unheard of for a popular PC or console release to find its way to Android, but you'll be surprised at how well PUBG plays on a smartphone. The developers have made it easier for mobile players to pick up and manage items, and have also added bots in the lowest ranks to help ease players into the game experience. Bluetooth controller support would be a nice addition, but the touch controls are some of the best I've seen for a shooter on mobile.
It also allows you to scale back the graphics so you can enjoy smooth gameplay even when playing on an older device. If you've got a newer device, crank those settings to the max and enjoy one of the best looking mobile games I've played in a long while.
PUBG Mobile somehow delivers all the epic moments you'd expect the PC game scaled down perfectly for mobile devices. Best of all, it's free to play and features four unique maps to choose from along with multiple game mode and your choice of playing in first- or third-person view. Get your squad together, and I'll see you on the battlegrounds!
